Washington Photo Safari

Washington Photo Safari is one of the nation's largest photography training programs, hosting an average of 5 clients every day, 365 days a year, since 1999, providing them with tips on camera use and photographic composition while visiting the monuments of the nation's capital. We specialize in offering hands-on instruction to clients while they are taking the pictures in a variety of picturesque venues, such as the National Mall, the Washington National Cathedral, the Library of Congress, the Reagan Washington National Airport, Georgetown by day and night, and many other locations at sunrise, sunset, civil twilight and nighttime. 

Washington Photo Safari has received over 200 5-star ratings and annual certificates of Excellence from *Trip Advisor, which ranks it among the top 5 of 57 outdoor activities in DC . Voting with their feet, more than a third of our clients, coming from 50 US states and 35 countries and the DC/MD/VA area  return for 2 or more safaris as repeat clients.

E. David Luria, the director of Washington Photo Safari, is a professional architectural photographer trained in Paris at the Parsons School of design by a protege of famed French photographer Henri Cartier Bresson. A member of the american Sociaty of media photographer, the association of independent Architectural Photographers, and the Society of Photographic Educators, mr. Luria has  had images appear i over 100 publications and in calendars and postcards sold throughout the DC area. he and his team of 11 instructors have trained over 36,000 amateur photographers in camera use and composition since 1999. 

Specialized instruction is given in pet photography, portrait photograph y, nighttime, real estate, architectural, abstract and sports photography
