Left fork of North Creek

Zion National Park, Utah

Be prepared to hike to this one! As I tell my guests, it’s a 5 mile walk in to these falls and a 20 mile walk out! Or so it seems.

Atchafalya Basin

Baldwin, Louisiana

The egret like me, waits for the morning light of day to burn off the fog. Quiet is the norm at these times in the swamp. My kayak barely makes a ripple as I move through the still morning air. The water is warm, but the mist tells the story of the impending fall temperatures in the basin. That stillness breathes life into the swamp, and all troubles seem very far away.
