Watercolor: Wet, Wild and Wonderful

Jane Brennan

July 27-31

Watercolor is a very versatile and in many ways a very forgiving painting medium. It allows a spontaneity that most other painting mediums do not. We will work en plein air in the picturesque environment of Peters Valley, as well as indoors, learning to react to not only our subject matter but also to the ways the medium can be manipulated and controlled to achieve desired results. Jane will share her skills and methods so that you can continue to explore subject matter, composition and all the wonders that watercolors offer at home. Beginner to Intermediate

Jane began her college education at Sussex County College, and returned to teach varied Art and Design courses as an Adjunct Professor for many years. In addition to college training she has studied with Mel Stabin, who is a prolific plein air painter and teacher. Jane works intuitively, primarily in watercolor and charcoal as well as in various other mediums, including paper and fiber arts. For over 30 years her studio; nestled in a high valley near the Appalachian Trail in the Kittatinny mountains of rural NJ, has been a major source of inspiration.

Tuition: $605
