Instructor: Crystal Gregory
Twills are the most versatile and diverse woven structure of them all. In this class we will take a close look at twill structures from basic to advanced patterns. Students will be encouraged to experiment with twills and weave a wonderful scarf to warm up the fall!
Beginner to Intermediate
Crystal Gregory is a sculptor and holds an MFA from The Fiber and Material Studies Department within The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2013 Gregory was awarded The Leonore Annenberg Fellowship and moved to Amsterdam to take a position as Artist-In-Residence at The Gerrit Rietveld Academie of Art where her research connected ideologies around studio glass and lacemaking. She has shown in galleries nationally and abroad and has received fellowships to attend artist residencies at Vermont Studio Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, La Maison des Metiers d’art de Quebec and Wave Hill’s Winter Workspace Residency. Gregory lives and works in Brooklyn and holds an adjunct faculty position in the Fiber and Material Studies Department at Tyler School of Art. www.crystalgregory.org
